Psalms 5:1-6

¹ 1 Lord, Listen to my words. Pay attention / when I sigh.
* listen to ~ : ~를 듣다. 음악을 듣다. 누구의 말을 듣다 할때 쓰는 표현.

주님, 저의 말을 들어주세요. 제가 한숨 지을때 귀를 기울여 주세요.

² My king and my God, Listen to me / when I cry for help. I pray to you.
* cry for : ~을 때문에 울다. 애타게 찾는다.
* listen to me : 내말을 들어주세요.(일반적으로도 '내말을 들어봐'라고도 사용됩니다.)
나의 왕, 나의 하나님, 제가 도움을 구할 때 (저의 기도)들어주세요. 제가 주께 기도합니다.

³ Lord, in the morning / you hear my voice. In the morning / I pray to you. I wait for you in hope.
* in the morning 아침에, in the evening 저녁에
* you hear my voice
주님, 아침에 저의 목소리를 들으소서. 아침에 제가 기도합니다. 소망중에 주님을 기다립니다.

⁴ God, you aren't happy with anything that is evil. Those who / do what is wrong / can't live where you are.
* be happy with : ~과 함께 행복하다는 말은 그로 인해 기뻐하고 기분이 좋다는 것이다.
* Those who do what is wrong : 주어절, what is wrong - 잘못 된 것 => 악행
하나님은 모든 사악한 것을 기뻐하지 않으십니다. 악을 행하는 사람은 하나님이 계신 곳에 살수가 없습니다.

⁵ Those who are proud can't stand in front of you. You hate everyone / who does what is evil.
* in front of : ~ 앞에, 사물, 사람, 장소 앞에
자랑하는 이들은 하나님앞에 설수 없습니다. 하나님께서는 악한 일을 행하는 모든 자를 미워하십니다.

⁶ You destroy those / who tell lies. Lord, You hate murderers and / those who cheat other.
* those who tell lies : those 저 사람들, who tell lies는 those를 수식하고 있습니다.
* those who cheat other : 위와 같은 형태입니다. cheat 사람을 속이는 일입니다. 게임에서 규칙을 따르지 않거나 시험에서 컨닝을 이렇게 부릅니다.
당신은 거짓을 말하는 자들을 멸하십니다. 주님, 당신은 살인자와 다른이 들을 속이는 자들 싫어하십니다.

절(clase) 구(phrase)
단어들이 모여서 구(phrase)가 되기도 하고 절(clause)이 되기도 합니다. 둘의 공통점은 독립적으로는 완전한 문장을 이룰수 없다는 것입니다.
그러나 절 안에는 주어와 그에 해당하는 동사가 있고, 구에는 그런 것이 없지요.

Psalm 5:7-12

⁷ Because of your great love I will come into your house. With deep respect I will bow down toward your holy temple.
⁸ Lord, I have many enemies. Lead me in your right path.
Make your way smooth and straight for me.
⁹ Not a word from their mouths can be trusted. Their hearts are filled with plans to destroy others.
Their throats are like open graves. With their tongues they tell lies.
¹⁰ God, show that they are guilty. Let their evil plans bring them down.
Send them away because of their sins.
They have refused to obey you.
¹¹But let all those who love you will be glad because of you.
¹² Lord, you bless those who do what is right.
Like a shield, your loving care keeps them safe.
